Today, the teddy bear might be a classic by everyone's standards. He really didn't get his start until the start of the 20th century, however, when he was created and then named after then President Theodore Roosevelt.

The story goes that President Roosevelt and the governor of Mississippi were bear hunting in Mississippi in 1902 when some of the attendants clubbed an American Black Bear and tied him to a tree.
