With Frances gorgeous countryside, magnificent architecture, and spectacular food and wine, it is not hard to see why so many want to plan cheap holidays in France. Stay in Paris for a couple days before moving on to a cheaper destination. Visit one of numerous other fascinating and bustling cities in France to save money without sacrificing a memorable vacation.

One alternative to pricey hotels is camping which is quite common for the French people. Many campgrounds have nicer amenities than much more expensive hotels. Lists of low-cost rooms are available by several government sponsored organizations. Generally they are smaller hostels, inns and B and Bs. Ideal for foodies, these accommodations are renowned for their delectable cuisine. Other types of lodging include unique buildings like historic farmhouses. Most of these also provide delectable farm fresh cuisine.

Expensive ways to travel in France are by rental car, taxi, and train. Luckily these are not the only ways to get around. There are several that are both inexpensive and easy to do. If traveling far then rail passes are an excellent buy. There are a couple discount airlines in France and with flights to Southern cities from Paris that are actually cheaper than rail passes or car.

Eating can be inexpensive if planned ahead of time. Staying away from the tourist areas can save a lot of money and reveal the real culture. French bakeries are great places to get inexpensive goodies like bread and croissants. Stopping in at the local market and picnicking in are park is an authentic and reasonable way to experience the real France. There are many fabulous and low cost ethnic restaurants that also provide haute cuisine on a budget. Many restaurants in tourist areas provide set price meals for a discounted price.

Spending a few days in Paris can be done inexpensively if planned carefully. With some of the most wonderful hotels and restaurants in the world, as well as some of the finest art galleries, there are few cities that can offer as much culture and class as Paris. Tickets into monuments and museums in Paris can be expensive, although there is usually one day each week when entry is free or almost free.

France is a country of countless splendors often thought to be out of reach for the budget traveler. With a little planning, however, a trip to France is more likely to be a more genuine and rewarding vacation than most people get who go first class. Planning cheap holidays in France are a great way to see the country.
