A majority of visitors to these parts arrive and leave through the international airport near Cancun. A free resort shuttle can come to pick up and drop off guests at the airport, but make sure to mention it when booking a stay. In any case, cabs or rental cars are easily available for the short ride from the airport on Highway 307.
Those who prefer public transportation can take the bus to Playa del Carmen that departs from the airport every hour. Other buses heading for Tulum can be taken in between. Upon reaching the resort, guests provide a travel itinerary to the guards and enter the magical world of the Grand Luxxe Riviera Maya. The decadent luxury and royal treatment adds to the pleasure of the stirring natural beauty of the Mayan Riviera.
Guests checking in get a warm welcome with complimentary mimosas and margaritas. Pastries, tea and coffee are complimentary all day long. The luxury and opulence of the accommodations has no comparison anywhere on the Quintana Roo coast.
Every suite has its own Jacuzzi, and all the rooms have Wi-Fi connectivity and monstrously huge flat-screens. Floor to ceiling sliding glass doors open out to offer a balcony and a killer view of the Caribbean Sea. If that fails to impress, surely the private butler on each floor and the 24 hour room service will be enough to make anyone fall in love with the resort and never want to leave.
Guests have direct access to the Caribbean Sea with nothing between the water and the resort except for the white sand - mile after mile of pristine beach on either side. Guests can laze under the shade of a tall palm swaying in the cool ocean breeze. Poolside luxury is something else again, with a climate controlled pool, private cabanas and a poolside concierge hovering to refill cocktails and fulfill every request.
Avid golfers will no doubt have heard about El Mangler, the Jack Nicklaus designed 18-hole golf course in the resort which uncannily blends in with the surrounding Mayan jungle and the lakes and greenery on the grounds. The spa is no slouch either, and has expert therapists offering full body treatments, massages and facials. There is a beauty salon, fitness center, sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room along with the spa.
The resort has 11 separate dining establishments. A kids club and baby-sitting service keeps the children happy while the adults make the most of the holiday. Lucky guests who are in time for the turtle hatchings get to move baby turtles from the hatchery and deposit them into the water. All this was just the resort, and there's a whole new world awaiting discovery outside the Grand Luxxe Riviera Maya.
